The Iacocca Mentorship
The foundation of everything Roman Ventures represents is a twenty-year mentorship between Thomas Roman and Lee Iacocca. That relationship began through the Global Village program at the Iacocca Institute at Lehigh University, where Roman was selected as a fellow.
Over two decades, Iacocca transmitted a standard — a way of thinking about leadership, accountability, and institutional permanence — that Roman has carried into every company he has built. That standard is not a methodology. It is a formation.
The Book
The Bench: The Iacocca Standard is Thomas Roman’s account of that mentorship and the principles it installed. It is the primary document of the Roman Ventures formation standard and the foundation of the Roman University curriculum.
